Maxwell, I don't see what you're so upset about. Your arm was perfectly fine in the end, wasn't it?

You know, someone has taken my instructions for the invisibility spell. I pulled it out of my bag while in class and set it on the desk while I searched for some parchment, but when I went to put it back...it was gone. I bet one of the clapping sifters took it. One must be so careful when they are about. It's their favorite season. I can't believe I was so careless about it.

All this is quite upseting. I don't know how many times I've told people that if you keep ignoring the Zenereath Tapling that bad things will happen. I can't do it all on my own. It's just about time the rest of you started to pay attention to them. When they're ignored, your luck turns bad, and now look at where we all are. The O.W.L.s, I don't think I could stand taking them again.

I wonder if the article is true, about Professor Dumbledore. I hope it's not, I don't think Hogwarts will be worth attending if...well, I believe I've said my piece.

I'm in a bit of a frenzy right now. I've gone and lost my Gurdyroot. If anyone has it, please return it to me. I'm completley defenseless without it. What should I do if Gulping Plimpies come to attack me in my sleep. You know, I think I saw one last night when I was about to go to sleep. It ran across the floor of my room, underneath my bed, and back into the closet. Well, I had read in the Quibbler some time ago that tomatoes keep the Gulping Plimpies trapped...something to do with color. Well, anyway, I have a bunch of tomatoes in front of my closet door right now, and I don't think that they'll stay fresh forever. Although, I can't be sure of that.

Well, I'm back home now. Dad's contemplating going to the service at Hogwarts. He's slightly nervous about letting me go.

A little ways up the road, there was a house that had caught on fire. There were those trucks racing down our street, big red ones, I think they're called "fightermen" or something like that. I reckon it was really a heliopath though. I'm tempted to owl the ministry about keeping such dangerous creatures.

I'm afraid any euphoria over exams being over was short lived. I can't believe what has happened to our school, yet again.

I for one, feel a bit nervous about the OWLs. I think I should do alright. I mean, I usually do well on tests. I've been studying a lot lately. I even put off my endeavours to walk through walls. I do think that there is something wrong with the spell. However, it just doesn't seem possible, my father personally checks what is put in the Quibbler. Anyway, I've been in the library mostly. So, chances are if anyone needs me, that's where I'll be.

I just don't get it. I've tried the spell over and over again, and I just can't seem to walk through the walls. I'm doing everything the article says...it's probably my concentration being disrupted by individuals who are laughing at something. Usually, they are laughing and pointing at something in my direction, but I never see anyone around me. Perhaps these people are seeing things that aren't there. I mean, what else could they be laughing at?

The O.W.L.s are coming up shortly. I hope I do well on them. I should probably be practing more. Why, do you know that I even saw Maxwell Pullman studying in the library early this evening. I was surprised.

My right shoe is missing. Has anyone seen it? Hoenstly, it's like the third time in a month that its gone missing. It always ends up in some odd place, that I'm sure I didn't leave it in. Until I find it, again, I'll just have to mix it with another pair. The coloring is a bit off, but that's okay.

You know, shoes is a rather interesting word. Does anyone else ever wonder where words come from. Of course, most of our language is based on that of other, more ancient cultures, but still, where did it all start. I wish I knew. I want to create a word, I think it would be fun.

It's quite sad, what's happened. I never thought...

I didn't know her well. I didn't really know her at all. Still, the loss is very sad.

I find myself retreating, more and more, into my studies. Sometimes, only putting it aside to read the Quibbler. I really don't know what else to do.

I'm sorry for the loss that Slytherin has experienced.

Mr. Zabini, I've located the Hufflepuff that was taking pictures of the creatures in the lake doing their...things, and he said that he would be willing to lend them to you. He'll owl them to you soon.

I've decided that it's best to not go near the lake at all anymore. I find it a bit too disgusting and inappropriate. Not, that there is anything wrong with doing what comes naturally.

I'm in an abandoned classroom at the moment, and there's the most awful smell, drifting in.

I think I need to go.
